Town v Notts Co - League Cup
#11
Well that was totally unacceptable. We lacked ideas. We lacked ambition. We lacked passion.
The formation was all wrong. Smith is not a wing back. Davidson is not ........ I don't know..... what actually is he? He's certainly not good enough for Huddersfield Town. Whitehead looked old and past it.
Wells needs too many chances before he scores. Miller looked good but ran out of steam. As did Dempsey. He does look good but by the time he got taken off, he had run out of steam. That's probably because he was having to do the entire midfield all on his own.
Powell made changes to rest vital players. After one match? Give over!
If you're resting players, why not rest all eleven and play the junior team? At least they have grown up together, play as a team and are winners. Alright, they may have flopped and Powell would've been slated for not taking the cup seriously, but not as much as he's getting flak tonight.
Unacceptable Town.  Angry

Absolute garbage. I'll say it again...the whole club lacks ambition.
Whydrop Butterfield after 1 game, it's not like he's knackered and especially as Scannell is injured.
I said it on Saturday and I'll say it again, Dean Hoyle needs to invest in this squad because it isn't good enough

Smith and Davidson are both crap, neither can defend, nor can they attack properly in the wing back role. Tonight was dire, second half in particular, no urgency, no creativity and no pattern to our play, garbage. 5 defenders on the pitch against a League 2 side, don't make me laugh. The only time we showed any urgency was when Hammill came on, other than that it was pedestrian and clueless.

Wakey, the club have lacked ambition for the last 30 years, it's nothing new, mediocrity is accepted as the norm, it permeates every strand of the club. All we hear is that we can't compete with the bigger clubs in this league and some fans swallow that hook line and sinker. It's boring and its draining the fans of their will, crowds are dwindling and tonights attendance is proof if ever it was needed that the fans are disillusioned with the whole carry on.

2 games in - 2 games lost - sound familiar ?
Watched Town for since 1981 - and we have always been a "nearly" club.

Nearly got into the playoffs for the Premier League and decided to sell Marcus Stewart.....that for me sumes up this club to a tee.

Sadly the same old idiots (like me) hope for a better season each time it comes around.....come May we say "what if and why"......and we pay for another season....

We cannot and never will compete with even the medicore clubs in this division as we don't have the crowds - we lack the parachute payments and by the look of this team and manager we lack passion and leadership.....

Always next season lads !

Think davidson and smith are both out and out full backs not wing backs. They play as the side of the defence and have a winger in front of them. When we get on top of games they venture forward but they both look like they dont want to go forward. We probably need another right back but there isnt any freebies available. We still need 2 or 3 incomings but there isnt anything in our price range. I've said it before that we should look abroad but the club is reluctant to do so or so it seems. I dont think we even have full time scouts which also raises the question on how the club expects good youngsters coming into the club. But we do need to look into portugal spain france etc for players this is where we are getting left behind or one of the places we are

It seems the whole club top to bottom is half arsed and not just the players.
