I guess my concerns about that team were justified.
Now I can't wait for someone to post how harsh I'm being on our stand in manager!!!
Clueless!!!

Didn't watch today's game, so not going to comment on individual performances etc.

Result was what I expected when I saw the XI.

And on that point...

How can you have several players not even deemed good enough for a place in squad one week, all starting the following week?

I mean, I'd actually forgotten that Adam Reach was still at the club...

And likewise, players who were first choice last week not even deemed good enough for the bench this week...

The vast amount of changes can mean only one of two thing... Either the manager picks the team out of a hat or he has absolutely no idea what he's doing...

I'm not sure which it is. Given the amount of square pegs in round holes, it has to be the former. But I fear it's more likely to be the latter.

Feel sorry for the likes of Tom Rogic. By far our best player when he came on in the week yet still doesn't get a start, despite the mass changes...

And on that point the club need to just get on with picking a new manager who has half a brain. Someone who can get back to basis. What the hell is taking so long? Surely the club were prepping for this when Bruce was having his dreadful run? Doesn't seem that way though. Ron Gourlay must be one of the most useless technical directors in the game. It seems Lai has a real knack of picking them.

After the first couple of games, I was hopeful this squad might challenge for promotion. But the mismanagement has me seriously worried about relegation now. And with our astronomical wage bill, which must be the highest in the league, I fear freefall. If there's even an example of how mismanagement can ruin a club, it's West Brom since Lai took over.

How many times have we said of clubs “they’re too good to go down”? Well I think we need to ditch any such sentiment and recognise we are in a dogfight. To use that well worn cliche “the table doesn’t lie”, we are bottom but one because we’re dreadful.
When I saw today’s team, I felt the same as Slick; I know we were poor on Tuesday but leaving out Diangana, and bringing in Grant and Reach defied belief. I was only surprised it took Millwall 90 minutes to get the winner. For me, the only pleasing outcome of Beale’s short tenure has been the restoration of TGH to midfield. Like Slick, I’ve only idea what Rogic has to do to get a start.
I’m assuming Corberan will be the new manager and I think he is the best we could have realistically appointed but does he have a job on his hands.

I was pondering on the team selection and did wonder if 'someone', wanted to see the players who have not been playing in an actual game. I just can't see anyone starting that team by choice, all things being equal. That said I did think Grady was limping when he left the field at the last game and someone did say, Asante had picked up a bit of a knock, who knows?

Beale would have taken the praise if we had won our last 3 games even if he didn't want the job. So he has to take some of the criticism.
He let himself and his youngsters down IMO.
He had a chance to show faith in them and get them on the pitch.
He didn't, he preferred to use the old guard who TBH have got us into the relegation zone.
IMO Clearly and Ashworth should have started every game.
I'm not sure the kids will have the same respect for him now.

once again taking far too long to get a new manager in and his only job when we do appoint one is simply to avoid relegation now
that would be an achievement and realistic aim forget promotion top six or even top half Doh

Question: Did Corberan recruit Grant and if so maybe there is hope to squeeze effort out of that block of lard?

Personally I expect him to come in and whip them into shape. We will then go on an amazing run which on the last day of the season will get us the last playoff slot. We win then romp through to victory in the final and have a massive cash boost that will drive us high in the Premier League the next season.

Shoulder operation was a success and these pain meds doing wonders.
