Millwall vs WBA - Match Thread - Ska'dForLife-WBA - 21-10-2022 Friday dawns with three of the West Midlands clubs managerless, and one confirming that due to a lack of available talent, they'll remain so until 2023. Hopefully the situation won't be so bleak for Albion (if only because we're liable to be less choosy), but we'll be venturing down to London on Saturday with Richard Beale in charge, and after Tuesday night's showing took the shine right off last weekend's long-overdue win, that's an iffy prospect. The Lions are 8th in the table courtesy of a three-game winning streak, and their general record against the Baggies is worryingly good; they've won seven of their last ten at home against us, while we've won just one in five either home or away versus them, and have lost on nine of our last ten visits to London clubs, the sole exception being the shock win at Chelsea in April 2021. Whether or not he shuffles the formation and does away with three at the back - an approach which Bristol City effortlessly discredited on Tuesday - at the very least Beale needs to ring the changes in the starting XI and inject either some solidity with Yokuslu, some creativity with Rogic, or both. Going on form (both short-term and long-term) there's not much to lose, but a point would be very welcome in this encounter. They ripped them apart and I'm afraid the same will happen to us tomorrow unless we up the tempo 100% and pass quickly but accurately and our defence shows up for a change. No wonder we want to steal their manager :/ RE: Millwall vs WBA - Match Thread - baggietrousers - 22-10-2022 I hope I'm wrong, but that team looks awful. RE: Millwall vs WBA - Match Thread - derbybaggie - 22-10-2022 It’s a very weird selection but I suppose need to give it a chance RE: Millwall vs WBA - Match Thread - valpayne - 22-10-2022 wtf is that team selection??? RE: Millwall vs WBA - Match Thread - Baggie_One - 22-10-2022 Who cares Winning Swift ish …… 1-1 More 8 year old defending RE: Millwall vs WBA - Match Thread - 4evaabaggie - 22-10-2022 I fear we are looking at a second half pasting. Monitoring on an app, no pictures, it appears as though our boots are made of country life, nothing sticks, we can't clear our lines and the ball just keeps coming back. Stats show better possession rates than Millwall but less shots, less corners. We can not hold the ball and appear to be to scared to shoot. Please please somebody who is actually watching tell me I am wrong. We play about with it in our own half, cross the halfway line, next touch, it's out for a millwall goal kick. It appears we are totally clueless in the opposition half and have little or no attacking prowess. Open a book on how long before Millwall get a second and third. Coventry two up, Hull three one up ..... We are second bottom. And there it is .... 2 - 1. 69 minutes Is it a reprieve .... Goal disappeared off the app back to 1 - 1 RE: Millwall vs WBA - Match Thread - Baggie_One - 22-10-2022 Welcome back Bartley RE: Millwall vs WBA - Match Thread - 4evaabaggie - 22-10-2022 Two yellows in fifteen minutes RE: Millwall vs WBA - Match Thread - talkSAFT - 22-10-2022 2-1 90 mins |
