Sorry for not talking about your beloved pigs.
My thread, my rules pieblade
Whilst we're on the topic, how's the food in Canada? Can you get proper bacon, pork pies, sausage rolls, pasties etc?

sheffields not doing too bad. Quite a few butchers opened up (simmonites moved from market into a shop on division street and going strong), a couple of good chippies if you know where to look. Bakers not brill though it's all greggs and shit who are americanising
Back in thurnscoe there's a proper "traditional" high street with a butchers, greengrocers, DIY shop, news agents and a cooplands (who are much better than greggs ). The front street seems to be doing better since the ASDA local opened up next door. Some welcome competition for once . We've got 3 very good chippies as well.

Read: "FA CUP thread."
Not: "nattering nosh thread."
Go talk about your meat and potato pies and black puddings on the proper thread.
You're muppetts and you need some time in the ML to think about your sins.
Hold on, this conversation is completely relevant to this thread!! We started off talking about pigs but once the pork got burnt by Preston we moved onto other meats, that just seems like natural conversational progression to me!!!

For me the blunts losing yesterday is good and bad!! The good is they lost, they lost at home and as an added measure they lost at home to one of their promotion rivals (albeit not in a league game), all of those things are very, very good. Hopefully it will hurt their confidence a bit and hopefully it will raise Preston's!!
On the bad side, they can now concentrate on the league!! Their cup run have definitely effected their league form over the past couple of years and anything that keep them in the pub league is good by me. So losing yesterday was bad from that perspective!!
Means nothing to the city itself, aside from not having to have 5,000 Mancs make the trip over the pennines or more likely up the M1 from London!!

must be **** hard in 'murrica. Shit bacon, shit sausages, shit bread, shit chocolate, shit sweets, shit football
You need to get out here, then you would see that most of that sentence is a little wrong!!! Bacon is different, not shit but not great for a bacon sandwich. Bread is good as long as you stay away from cheap white sliced, they have far more artisan breads here than you do. Sausages I will give you, some are good but the variety is poor!! Chocolate and "candy" is good as well, just a bit different from ours, but English sweets are fairly easy to get hold of now so get to have best of both worlds!! And you know my feelings on Football!!
I am sure Washington will agree, but the burgers over here are excellent, much better than the UK, as is the steak, but their pies are crap!!!
There's a good place in Redmond near Microsoft - 3 lions pub with the British pantry and a restaurant attached. The pub shows soccer and has a ridiculous amount of imported beer along with PNW craft brews the pantry sells imported t bags, chocolate, HP etc and take make excellent pork pies, sausage rolls and pies and pasties. Always stop by when on the way to visit my eldest daughter up in Bellingham. From there we sometimes pop over the border to B Columbia for decent fish and chips and curries.

Best pie in Sheffield is at "Nags Head" at Loxley, £5.95 with Chips and mushy peas and a free pint of any Bradfield ale! When Wednesday are away and I can't be arsed to go, I can be found in the Nags head.
This FA cup game is wank!

The pie at Frog and Parrot is decent although you need extra gravy because the pastry is really thick
is there an FA cup game on? perhaps someone should start an FA cup thread
