And there's a stewards' enquiry on that joke from BBB!

The inactivity, the lack of signings in areas vitally needed along with poor pre-season results to date, hardly fills one with confidence for our chances in the coming season which is just a few weeks away. Why are we doing what seems to be nothing?
Is it JP and the new owner negotiations?
Is it TP who doesn't have the greatest transfer record?
Is it the failings of the recruitment team?
Bearing in mind, the TP factor will have diminished and no doubt we will be parking the bus with four centre-halves at the back in front of three defensive midfielders with Sicknote, Saido or Ideye as the lone striker....
Out of 10 what is everyone’s expectation for the coming season given our current squad?
10 = Top 7 finish
5 = Mid-table struggle
3 = Maybe 17th, maybe 18th
1 = Certs for 20th and bottom place

If the season started right now, with the squads as they are, the only hope of us staying up would be TP. Thankfully, we still have a few weeks to actually do something.

I have very mixed feelings.
I have faith in Pulis to get the best out of limited players but I'm worried that we'll have limited players.
He did well with this bunch of players last season and we've not lost anyone and we'll have added a bit so in theory we should be able to do fairly well. We should be fairly solid defensively, Berahino should improve with age (and he's already great), McManaman should benefit from his half a season with us.
However, we're dangerously lacking in full-backs, we could use some more quality on the wing, we're wrecked if Berahino gets injured. There's a few other positions that could use work. I'm not convinced we'll make brilliant signings but we should improve a bit because everyone who'll leave wouldn't have played anyway.
All the promoted teams seem to have a decent amount about them and I think they all have a good chance of staying up. Leicester could do badly and if Villa don't replace Benteke well, they'll flop. Sunderland and Newcastle seem stronger, so we may have trouble there.
Currently I'm a 4 but I may be up to a 6 by the end of the window.

Ermmmmm excuse me baird, but, what about Mulumbu and Dorrans.
Plus there are a few other players TP clearly doesn't fancy (Pocognoli for a start).
I have a horrible feeling this transfer period is going very much like last season's with,potential panic buying of whoevers left in those last few days before the transfer window closes.
Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.
