FT and beaten 1-2 by an awful Saint Mirren side in a game that was effectively played as a 'bounce match'. What a terrible game to watch TBH. Lennon, like Stubbs previously, tried Keatings playing alongside Boyle and it didn't work!! He played Hanlon at LB and I'm assuming he decided to ignore Hibs promising young full back, Crane, to give some kinda game time to an experienced player!
Even Lennon's subs, Bartley and Cummings, were brought on for nothing more than getting some game time and he took off Harris who was the MOTM and performed reasonably well (although I'm still unconvinced by this lad - don't believe he's good enough for Hibs) compared with most of the other players. Also was this the real Andrew Shinnie who I observed this afternoon? The guy was absolutely mince and just didn't look good enough even v this very poor level of opposition!! I think Lennon had better start consistently solving how shit teams are beating Hibs with 9 or 10 players behind the ball and having very few scoring chances to win a game anyway while we keep spurning glaring scoring opps - Forster one of the main culprits with some shocking headed attempts that should've bulged the Buddies' goal net. F##### awful and it's time to heed the fact there was a good 5k Hibs fans who showed up to support the players for this kinda poorly regarded cup tie!
There's no doubt in the next game at Stark's Pk MGinn will return from Scotland duties, Stevo will be returned at LB, Forster will be ditched, Hanlon will return to his normal CB position alongside McGregor or Fontaine and Cummings will be reinstated after being rested for most of this 'bounce match'. That's Lennon's little experiments over!!!
