Just heard the interview with Stephen Hopcroft on WM about turning down the move to Man Utd; he spoke really well.  Says that after years of telling Albion youngsters not to jump ship when a bigger club comes calling, it would have been hypocritical of him to do so himself.  Good man.

It was on at half-time in the Villa match, and unfortunately I don't think that'll be available on iPlayer, though you can check if you like. The general upshot was that he's put years of his life into the Academy - often to the detriment of spending time with his own family - and felt that he didn't want to just abandon that for something new, in addition to wanting to set an example to the young players he coaches.
