The Youth, Academy & Development XI Thread

This thread is for anything to do with our current or former youth academy players.

RE: Youth, Academy & Development XI Thread - wba_1996 - 05-09-2014

Right, to mark the beginning of this new site I've finally got the OP updated. Hopefully the new layout is a bit better. Unfortunately there a few player's ages missing but it is impossible for me to find them out if they are not displayed on wiki/transfermarkt/the official site. Position data is accurate as far as my own knowledge, trawling through transfermarkt and looking at match reports on the official site goes, but if anyone has been to any recent U21/U18 games or has reason to doubt any of the positions I have listed then let me know.

Also, let me know if there are any improvements I can make to the OP that people feel they would like to see, i.e - appearance/goal/assist stats or maybe a few notes on the strengths/weaknesses/attributes of the players. Maybe Javro could help me out with the latter if he makes the jump over to this site as he seems to go to all the U21 games Tongue

I hope this thread will be beneficial to the new site and we can hopefully track the progress of a few players who rise all the way to the first team and potentially become baggies legends Thumb up

Berahino has scored 2 so far for England U21's, who are 2-0 up against Moldova.

RE: Youth, Academy & Development XI Thread - Bournemouth Baggie - 09-09-2014

He is starting to resemble the player we saw last season before his hissy fit. Influence of AI perhaps and his experience of working with the age group?

Isn't he playing as a striker? I really think Berahino would benefit playing as a striker as oppose to a wide man. I know he isn't ready to play up top on his own, but maybe scrapping off Anichebe/Ideye he can bag some goals. He is a natural finisher and I think is wasted out wide

Silvestre Varela's scored for the U21s against Brighton, with Adil Nabi adding a second. 2-0 at HT.

Jonathan Leko being targeted by Chelsea. Another victory for the FA and their plans to utterly destroy English football.

Yep, only 15 and playing for both our under 21's and England under 17's. I hope Stamford Bridge falls down and squashes those pricks Mourinho and Abramovic.
