So far I have complained about tactic's, substitutions and transfers, sometimes quite vehemently. However as yet, as far as I can remember, I have not yet used the phrase "Pullis Out".
Well he has had a full season and several transfer windows and I am still being forced to watch drab, boring football where the only hope for the upcoming season is not to get relegated.
That worry should be for the newly promoted clubs, not clubs supposedly established in the league, where relegation should come as a surprise, not something they have to fear year on year. Now I appreciate that when you look at the league, we look OK at the moment, but that is more by luck than judgement.
Yes we are short of players but you have to ask yourself honestly, after you have just spent the last 10-20 years getting to get where you are in the game, would you really want to come to the Albion and play the embarrassing Pullis game? The only players who would be happy to do that are the journeymen who are just looking for the pay packet and players from overseas who have not seen us play. If we don't want to watch it, why would any professional want to play it?
I think another telltale sign is the amount of teenagers on the field and bench, who in the main are good. Unless Pullis has suddenly had an epiphany about young players since the last month of last season (which I very much doubt - leopards and spots come to mind) then you have to assume that they are only there because he is to stubborn to put the more established squad players on the bench in case he has to play them and possible be proved wrong about their abilities.
If we look at today critically, 42% possession and 2 shots on target against a newly promoted team (who somehow have attracted 10 new signings). First McClean who was probably our most productive player gets substituted, followed by Field who was the other player in the mix for our most productive, playing the defensive game from around 10 minutes in, sound familiar? On a positive side we played really well for the first 8 minutes.
This just feels too reminisce of last season and all the BS that came with it, so before we get to a position where the situation is unrecoverable, hate to say it but Pullis you are turning the club many of us love with a passion into an embarrassment, so hear it is................"PULLIS OUT NOW".
I'd rather watch good attractive football, lose and be relegated than watch this dire, drab rubbish and be grateful for the odd win and a shed full of draws, hoping we get enough draws to survive.
