This is why I support imre. Not because he makes much sense. He's usually daft. But on this one, purely by a fluke, he's spot on.
If we are trying to stay within a salary budget so as not to lose too much dosh, why have we held on to Semedo (who's now being tipped as our 'new' CB) and Nuhiu?

I won't say much about Nuhiu so as not to get a telling off from maddix, but we don't need him. Semedo? Nice guy. But he's past it now.

We are carrying dead weight.

Don't agree about Semedo, he still has a role to play even if just as a squad member. Our first 11 is almost set and looks good, its behind that where we struggle so even if you got rid of Semedo, we would need to replace him and probably with someone who could even cost us more. We know what we have with Semedo, he seems happy to be on the bench at this stage and he is a good character to have in the squad.
I agree on Nuhiu though, we should be listening to offers for him.

As I said earlier, we've released a few players, including a CB and a loan CB back to their parent club. Hunt & Pudil ( if he ever signs, will be our marquee signing at this rate) Do not have quality cover for their positions. The same for midfield.
If Bannan & Hutch, god forbid, are ruled out with 2 month injuries respectively, what impact will that have on our season, there isn't enough quality to step in to these positions.
I firmly believe last seasons squad was too thin, I'm even more of that belief currently. The starting XI looks good, but who is the impact sub? Who is almost like for like in quality should be take some injuries? Who steps in when Fessis leg gets broken and the ref red cards him at the same time?
Staying within the parameters of FFP is a must, but I also find it hard to believe that the clubs around us can continue spending and signing players at the rate they are, and not be worse off than we are?
I get that it sometimes feels like that with regards to other clubs but so far there has been minimal movement in the Championship. Below is a list of the ins and outs at what we could consider to be our main rivals, makes interesting reading:
Villa - 3 in, 2 out
Brighton - 1 in, 1 out
Derby - 0 in, 1 out
Cardiff - 3 in, 1 out
Ipswich - 1 in, 2 out
Newcastle - 7 in, 5 out
Norwich - 2 in, 3 out
Birmingham - 1 in, 1 out
SWFC - 2 in, 0 out
Newcastle were expected to have to overhaul, they have lost most of their best players but have also bought some good ones as well. Villa haven't done a ton considering they were such a shambles last season and the rest are about the same as us. Of course I haven't looked at the quality of the transfers but if we go by just the numbers there isn't a lot out there.
