Good morning everyone.
Town started poorly last night, Rotherham were all over us like some kind of nasty rash for the first 15mins and aside from the goal had a couple of other very decent chances that had it been us we'd have being saying "should've scored there"
Anyhow they didn't and Town came back into it thanks to Nahki Wells, last night I was thinking Camp should've done better with it but looking back at the highlights it's a strike that Nahki take early, hits low and hard and on further reflection probably takes the keeper by surprise. From that moment onwards the first half was pretty much ours, we settled down into a passing game and tried to work openings and on two more occasions Nahki broke through. The 1st being down the right hand side of the box going away from goal when I thought another 1st time shot was coming in but Nahki wanted to go further and the 2nd was on the left with Nahki driving into the box but just running out of space, it's safe to say if we used the channels correctly he had them beat.
2nd half ebbed and flowed, Warnocks men hoofed and chucked the ball in at every opportunity but Town dealt with the majority comfortably and Steer was in the right place at the right time when they didn't.
One thing we can say about Wagner is he makes brave substitutions, bringing Matmour and Paterson on around the hour mark and taking of VLP who had just taken the Rotherham right back to the cleaners on at least 3 occasions at the start of the second half.
Nahki's offside goal, well the flag goes up straight away...was he offside? I couldn't tell last night but having watched it back this morning Nahki makes the run from a offside position and when the ball is played he looks offside to me.
Yes Town could've won it, yes Town probably should've won it but at the end of the day it's the point that secures our Championship status for another season and I'm happy with the point.
Just a couple of other things. Seemed to be a lot of tension among the Town supporters last night and I don't know why, the game was all but a dead rubber as far as I was concerned and MK result proved that so people just need to chill out a bit between now and the end of the season
Jason Davidson- came in for a lot of stick near us, mainly from the Town 'youth'. Again chillax, he isn't going to be our no1 choice next season and likely not going to be here at all.
Rotherhams stadium- only holds something like 12000 but every seat seems to be close or feel like it's on top of the pitch, makes for a decent atmosphere and most of the views are good. Only my mates seats weren't that good, directly behind the goal 3 rows back with the crossbar obstructing the view although I didn't have that problem sat on the back row. Now can the just sort some decent parking out
