I don't hate refs, I just hold them in a healthy contempt. They've got a difficult job to do sometimes, but they and their laughingly called 'assistant referees' could make their jobs easier by 1. Actually watching the game, 2. Not bottling decisions and 3. Only giving decisions when they're 100% sure of what they've seen. Nobody minds honest mistakes where someone holds his hand up, but incompetence followed by closing ranks fools no one.
