I suppose it depends where you want to draw the lines and split the hairs on what you call "open play". For example there were both Albion players and Palace players involved before Gardner hit the ball from twenty five yards. Either way, if we are set up to play by successfully maximising dead ball situations as part of our current game, what's the problem?
