2014/15 Season Review (of sorts)

Player of the Season
For me its Smithies, he gets a lot of stick on forums and at games, my mates one of them, but whilst I agree that he makes howlers, what goalkeeper doesnt? Courtois against hull, Gomes when a tottenham against madrid, casillas at madrid, De Gea has let loads squirm through. They all make mistakes and I really do think that Smithies is a top keeper, we'd struggle without him, there are things I would like him to improve on, everyone can improve. But believe me, this kid has saved the team more than he has cost, but people will only pull up things he has cost, because they get highlighted, not the times hes saved us.

Young Player of the Season
We're a young side, but not a young young side, for me, out of the younger heads, this will wind a few up, but i'd go with Smith. Yes he looks like a weak link at times, but at others he looks really solid. the thing to remember is that he is developing, so to pull up the 'he messes up crosses' is a bit of a poor do, i'm sure Ivanovic has messed up crosses, its something smith has to add to his game. he holds his own against tough players. for the amount we have paid for him, he is doing well and it is time for him to kick on.

Best game of the Season.
I'm going to go with the win at home over Watford. this is a team that has just been promoted and we made them look distinctly average. we could have had more and maybe they could too, but its the fact that we actually showed the quality we do possess in that game.

Worst game of the Season
i'm not going to say one of the heavy defeats. i'm going to say them boring goaless games. take your pick, wigan is upthere along with cardiff.

Goal of the Season
seeing as i picked the watford game as game of the season, its only fair it has the goal of the season too. Lynch's overhead kick. if rooney had done it, Gary Neville would still be creaming himself over it, the adverts would still be making a hoo ha over it. but this wasnt an international striker. it was a defender who produced it. it wasnt like the piledriver against charlton the year before, but this is still up there. on a side note, i do feel that Lynch should be in and around the wales squad still, far better than some in there.

Best Player in the Championship(based on games against Town)
theres always players that do well against town. ive seen redmond mentioned and wilson. but tom ince did well against town, so he gets a mention. but i think i may have to go for tomlin, which will surprise some, but he always has it in for us, he may not be the wilson or redmond, but that guy always seems to do something against us, or at least worries us.
