Sunderland should immediately suspend him pending the outcome of the hearing. He like everyone else is innocent until proven guilty. When they removed the suspension earlier I got the feeling they assumed he wasn't going to be charged with anything, so either they got some bad legal advice or something else came to light which caused him to be now charged. If found guilty he should be immediately fired by the club irrespective of whether he gets jail time or not.
