“On Tuesday ‘Sess’ got a ball that hit him in the eye and he complained a little bit about it on Thursday but trained, so as far as I was concerned everything was fine,” said Irvine.
“He was very much in our thoughts for playing but as a precaution he went to have an assessment by an eye specialist, and we were told that he had blood in his eye and that it was a risk to play because if he got another blow to the eye then it could be something serious.
“The decision was taken out of my hands because obviously you can’t risk somebody’s sight. So we lost him on Friday and Boaz Myhill, who had a bit of a bang on the knee.
“I would think that ‘Sess’ would probably be OK for next week.
SO LESCOTT AND McCauley were both available so why didn't McCauley start instead of Olsson and Dawson and Where the feck was Lescott...........was it the scrap I posted about, if not why wasn't he playing FFS
