So good that there were rumours of potential January bids from the likes of Napoli and Milan. Whereas Lescott and Brunt aren't natural LB's, Brunt looks ok going forwards but his defensive positioning can be a bit iffy, Lescott on the other hand is the best CB we have had in my lifetime and is being played in a position where he is so horribly exposed it is embarrassing.
In my mind you just have to play Pocognoli and then you can deal with shipping him out/looking for a new LB or what ever when we get to the end of the season. Playing Lescott there is suicide. I absolutely ripped into Irvine after most games we played and, although I rate Pulis as the best man for us at this moment in time, he is not going to escape criticism just because he is Pulis. He isn't perfect and it is obvious he has a few things he needs to work on if he is ever going to be considered as anything more than someone to keep struggling teams up.
I'm optimistic atm, but my mind will be made up when I see his summer transfer business.
It would appear Pocognoli did not play at the highest level for the under-21s the other night. As I have said on here before, I am told he has an attitude problem. I would imagine TP would play him if he thought he was up to the job as we are a bit stuck for full backs (or whatever they're called these days).
