This should have happened weeks ago with a new man already in for the important Xmas period and would now have the entirety of January to sort out the squad. The new man, if appointed quickly, will still need a match or two to work out the squad before signing anyone. As usual the Albion have fucked up yet again. That’s 3 big ones in 12 months. Wicky fell through because of backroom staff, Mowbray was brought back after being out the game for so long and then kept too long, and then Mason was a big risk that was kept on for too long. I’d say that Nestor has to get this one right otherwise he should be gone too the next time the revolving door opens.

As for Mason’s replacement, I suspect it will be Michael Carrick as that is the easy option for the club. I think he’d be good for us but it would also be a bit uninspiring for me.

Just read that Carlos Corberan is facing immense pressure at Valencia now after their defeat over the weekend. The team bus was attacked by some fans and there were chants against him too, which could force the owner’s hand

I wonder if a return to the Albion could happen in the near future?…

I appreciate the time gap in Corberan’s case is not long but our track record of reappointing past managers (Atkinson, Giles, Mowbray) is not great. So, not sure
