All good points Talk Saft.  And I think it’s great to host the world cup all around the world but as you say, it is a summer competition and that was the basis of the bids.  Qatar also bid on this basis which is why I say it is not their fault for the change.  They have been preparing for a summer world cup.  However, in the summer the heat is not just in the day.  At night, the humidity rises and it is just as bad.  Therefore a summer world cup is not a realistic option.  

....the whole point is that, as you say Danny, Qatar won the bid as a SUMMER competition. How come it's only after they did win that everyone - sorry, FIFA -  discovered that it actually gets a little warm in the summer?!! 
This is a bit like giving the Winter Olympics to The Seychelles.

The only possible conclusion for this barmy decision is that Qatar have paid an obscene amount of money to FIFA and/or their officials - and I would suggest that, on that basis, in fact it IS Qatar's fault - theirs and FIFA's. Qatar and their FA obviously knew that a summer competition was impossible all along.
