Qatar World Cup
#2
I live in Qatar, and whilst this decision is the right one because of the temperature, the tournament should never has gone to Qatar in the first place.

It is however, not Qatar’s fault. They bid on, and have been preparing for a summer World Cup in 2022. I believe the decision to move to Nov/Dec is obviously better for the players but it’s the fan’s that FIFA are concerned about the most. The players will be playing in air conditioned stadiums whereas the fans will be left to roam about in Qatar in temperatures that are ridiculous.

What I can say is that this will be the best the best world cup there has ever been, both for the fans that make the journey and the players involved. All games played in effectively one city, in state of the art stadiums, linked by state of the art public transport. Fans watching this on TV will be amazed!

Qatar will go above and beyond what you can imagine…but sadly this will come at the cost of many, many lives and poor workers welfare which overrides every positive previously alluded to and is therefore unacceptable.

This is the 21st century though, and like it or lump it… money talks :-(
