ignoring the games till they're done is working out for me. when we lose as we did at blackburn its a quick burst of disappointment as opposed to a long drawn out painful afternoon
and when we win or draw at leeds is a welcome pleasant surprise. although I nearly shot myself in the foot with the boro game when I dared to check at 4.55 pm forgetting the new rules means there's about 20 minutes of ET per game these days It was 3-2 at that point so after quickly shutting it down I had a rare and strange premonition that not only would boro not equalise but we would actually win 4-2
rare optimism but that's exactly what happened. As others have said defensively we are a nightmare On the highlights Furlong in particular was found badly wanting on the 18 yard line pratting about dithering and allowing the ball to be taken off his toes and then if that wasn't bad enough he gave away the pen to make it a scary ending. On the plus side Kipre for all his defensive woes took that first goal like an out and out striker. Whilst sarmiento's sheer determination wrestling back and keeping the ball alive from his position laying on the floor enabled him to put away a very fine strike. more of that please. Oh and Swift's goal was also a bit of a pearler although Boro did nothing to stop him. The gift from Boro for Asante he very nearly let it get away with a sloppy first touch but I guess he probably wasn't expecting boro to pass back to him so comfortably. Its a better start than most of us were expecting and I can't see many new faces coming in so this looks to be the team going forward lets hope dream and trust.
