sheffields not doing too bad. Quite a few butchers opened up (simmonites moved from market into a shop on division street and going strong), a couple of good chippies if you know where to look. Bakers not brill though it's all greggs and shit who are americanising 
Back in thurnscoe there's a proper "traditional" high street with a butchers, greengrocers, DIY shop, news agents and a cooplands (who are much better than greggs
). The front street seems to be doing better since the ASDA local opened up next door. Some welcome competition for once
. We've got 3 very good chippies as well.
