Maddix, no I grant you that sounds bad, but I bet it was still better than some I get here!!!  Having said that I have found a steak and ale pie that Trader Joe's supermarket does, and its as good as anything I have had in England!!  Their pies are just so plain, like their sausages, not variety its just chicken pot pie or chicken pot pie and maybe try the chicken pot pie!!!

It was shit but the upside of it all was that they sell beer in 2 pint (plastic) glasses so you don't have to go to the bar as often Perhaps that's something we could consider

BTW, I bought a bottle of Henderson's yesterday so I'll be at the Farm Shop in the morning to buy some top notch stewing steak the wife will take care of the dumplings
