Two households, both alike in victories, in fair West Bromwich where we lay our scene. But it's not Montague United and Dynamo Capulet going head to head at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon, rather those inseparable tablemates Albion and Rotherham, in 17th and 18th place respectively, each boasting 26 points accrued via six wins and eight draws. For the Baggies, the most recent of those triumphs on Monday night was a seasonal rags-to-riches tale which saw an early Sunderland lead overturned by a team that dramatically transformed at half-time from Bruce's Albion right back to Corberan's. Along the way we saw Tom Rogic truly arrive, Jed Wallace unleash his inner Beckham, and Daryl Dike muscle between two defenders and put his head to the ball as if he eats crosses like that for breakfast. It's still far from being a promotion-contending first XI, but sides who consistently produce those moments of quality end up closer to the top of the table than the bottom.

In contrast, it hasn't been a happy ride for the Millers of late, as just one win in eight has left them firmly on the slide. If there's good news for them at all, it's that they've lost on just one of their past four visits to B71, though that defeat came on their most recent visit in early 2019. Producing fewer shots on goal than any other Championship team, Rotherham have relied on quality of chances above quantity, successfully converting a high percentage of efforts into goals; if they're to trouble Albion this weekend, it could very well be the age-old tale of one shot, one goal. That was certainly the case in their last win at Bramall Lane, where 33% possession and a couple of attempts on target resulted in an unlikely 1-0 triumph over the promotion favourites. Albion must be on guard.

But if both teams continue true to form, and the Albion who played the second half on Monday night are at the wheel for a full ninety minutes, there's no reason why we shouldn't dodge the banana skin and complete a six-game winning streak for the first time in three years.
