Didn't watch today's game, so not going to comment on individual performances etc.
Result was what I expected when I saw the XI.
And on that point...
How can you have several players not even deemed good enough for a place in squad one week, all starting the following week?
I mean, I'd actually forgotten that Adam Reach was still at the club...
And likewise, players who were first choice last week not even deemed good enough for the bench this week...
The vast amount of changes can mean only one of two thing... Either the manager picks the team out of a hat or he has absolutely no idea what he's doing...
I'm not sure which it is. Given the amount of square pegs in round holes, it has to be the former. But I fear it's more likely to be the latter.
Feel sorry for the likes of Tom Rogic. By far our best player when he came on in the week yet still doesn't get a start, despite the mass changes...
And on that point the club need to just get on with picking a new manager who has half a brain. Someone who can get back to basis. What the hell is taking so long? Surely the club were prepping for this when Bruce was having his dreadful run? Doesn't seem that way though. Ron Gourlay must be one of the most useless technical directors in the game. It seems Lai has a real knack of picking them.
After the first couple of games, I was hopeful this squad might challenge for promotion. But the mismanagement has me seriously worried about relegation now. And with our astronomical wage bill, which must be the highest in the league, I fear freefall. If there's even an example of how mismanagement can ruin a club, it's West Brom since Lai took over.
