Before I go to watch the match I have to tell you that the EU made a great mistake in funding Cornwall. It shouldn't ever have been eligible. It also used the money to which it should not have been entitled to close a college in Devon in order to increase its own student numbers and create the University of Cornwall out of Falmouth College of Arts.

Anyway the big advantage of escaping the EU has been seen in the pandemic. The only thing the EU did in concert was buy vaccines. It was so inefficient and bureaucratic British scientists with their advice enabled even our stupid government to leave the EU changing tyres in the pit lane. In the long term the EU project can't work. Orban in Hungary is a million miles away from many of his EU counterparts, and then they've got Poland declaring LGBTQ-free zones! Just because we elected a buffoon, who negotiated us a deal, which even Mrs May recognised would be potentially disastrous, you can't blame the absence of the EU for the problems. Most of them are deliberately being caused by our bitter friends, who we were idiots to put in this position.
BUT you and I may well be alive because we were EU-free and thus better at vaccination.
As for moving home, I'm still looking. There are plenty of places I could buy in Chesterfield, but nothing that absolutely grabs me. Matlock comes close. I could well end up there if I have the energy.
