As Stairs points out, Dowling’s record on signings is very mixed (I include Pardew in that

As Josh pointed out, this will set back the appointment of a new manager…or, worryingly, it will accelerate it by appointing whoever is available right now, regardless of ability or experience (sadly I think we are approaching that point regardless of Dowling leaving ). We have become a case study on how to take a solid, unspectacular, established club and trash it.
