New manager - wba13 - 21-05-2021 Rob Dorset sky sports says 4 names on Albion short list at present. Wilder Lampard Cooper Wagner The odd one out is Cooper if Swansea don’t get promoted, they would still want compensation as he has a year left on contract, that’s if he wants the job. I also think Palace will be looking at him. RE: New manager - drewks - 21-05-2021 I'd like to see Wagner given a chance. A couple of career blips maybe, but who hasn't? I still think he's a good un. Maybe a good opportunity for him to resurrect his career over here. RE: New manager - Dingle-Dingle - 22-05-2021 https://www.westbromnews.co.uk/2021/05/21/west-brom-fans-fume-as-john-te Could this be the final nail........ DD ![]() ![]() RE: New manager - wba13 - 22-05-2021 Masi in the express and Star says Terry and Wagner not on list and we are going for a manager who has experienced the championship and promotion. Must admit Wilder looks the overwhelming fav because of his experience in promotion. But there could still be a curve ball . RE: New manager - talkSAFT - 22-05-2021 Chris Wilder would be a great choice, for me, and we're not going to get a better one without taking punts. RE: New manager - Blue Baggie - 23-05-2021 Looks like Wilder is now looking for a big pay off, this is exactly what we don't want. A manager who is hungry for success should be our priority. Not a money grabber. Lincoln have quoted £700k compensation for Appy. It's a minefield and nothing is cheap or guarantee'd RE: New manager - Dingle-Dingle - 25-05-2021 Lampard. ![]() ![]() https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/west-bromwich-albion/202 DD ![]() ![]() ![]() RE: New manager - wba13 - 25-05-2021 Someone ITK on another board who is normally right, is saying Dowling wants Wilder and The owners Want Lampard. This is just like when Dowling wanted Smith and the owners wanted Moore we know who won that battle. So it will be ???? One other thing there are 3 candidates with excellent CV’s Wilder has an outstanding CV Alfreton Town he won 4 trophies in 27 weeks Took Oxford into the football league and got them to mid table finish then went to Northampton. Northampton kept them in league two then got them promoted with the title and 99 points. Sheffield Utd took them to league one title with 100 pts then into the Premier league and 9 place finish. So he had a bad season with injuries and signings that didn’t work out but previous to this season his CV is excellent. Lampard his CV Derby County 6th in championship and runner up in the final Chelsea. In his first season he took them to fourth spot and the champions league and an FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal,in his next and last season. The first 14 league games they were unbeaten and topped there champions league group before a run of 2 wins in eight matches got him sacked. Eddie Howe Despite a transfer embargo he took Bournemouth from a 17point deficit to safety then to promotion to league one. Burnley he took them to 8th and 13th in the championship before leaving citing personnel reasons. Bournemouth he took them to the championship before gaining promotion to the premier league and 5 consecutive seasons in the premier before on the first of August 2020 he left by mutual concent. So that is three managers that could be on our short list with excellent CV’s and personally I would not say no to any of them. My personal choice is Wilder RE: New manager - Stairs - 25-05-2021 (25-05-2021, 12:53)wba13 Wrote: Someone ITK on another board who is normally right, is saying Dowling wants Wilder and The owners Want Lampard. Totally agree - all 3 of these would get my support as would Ismael. After that probably Wagner and McInnes would be fine RE: New manager - drewks - 25-05-2021 IMHO some good names there. Say what you want about Lank Frampard but he's sure to attract a better class of player than we probably deserve... |
