So our chairman, who is totally disinterested in the club and wants to sell it, has ruled out Appleton and Wilder because he does not want to pay out money (no surprises) on Appleton and he does not like how Wilder spoke to the owners at Sheff Utd.

So rather than pick Wilder who would add value to the club he has forced us to go against the boards unanimous choice and take a ‘lesser’ option.

Personally, Wagner could be a great pick. But it is clearly a risk. I’ll be 100% behind him of course but hard not to feel Wilder was a better fit.
