This is just like when Dowling wanted Smith and the owners wanted Moore we know who won that battle.
So it will be ????
One other thing there are 3 candidates with excellent CV’s
Wilder has an outstanding CV
Alfreton Town he won 4 trophies in 27 weeks
Took Oxford into the football league and got them to mid table finish then went to Northampton.
Northampton kept them in league two then got them promoted with the title and 99 points.
Sheffield Utd took them to league one title with 100 pts then into the Premier league and 9 place finish.
So he had a bad season with injuries and signings that didn’t work out but previous to this season his CV is excellent.
Lampard his CV
Derby County 6th in championship and runner up in the final
Chelsea. In his first season he took them to fourth spot and the champions league and an FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal,in his next and last season. The first 14 league games they were unbeaten and topped there champions league group before a run of 2 wins in eight matches got him sacked.
Eddie Howe
Despite a transfer embargo he took Bournemouth from a 17point deficit to safety then to promotion to league one.
Burnley he took them to 8th and 13th in the championship before leaving citing personnel reasons.
Bournemouth he took them to the championship before gaining promotion to the premier league and 5 consecutive seasons in the premier before on the first of August 2020 he left by mutual concent.
So that is three managers that could be on our short list with excellent CV’s and personally I would not say no to any of them. My personal choice is Wilder
Totally agree - all 3 of these would get my support as would Ismael. After that probably Wagner and McInnes would be fine
