According to Barnsley's website we've signed 23 year old Corey Addai on loan from them for a month.
The signing doesn't seem to be on our website and Bob's Board isn't talking about it.
What is stranger still is that last night when I logged on to the BBC website mid game it showed our goalkeeper as Addai, and other than an American footballer Corey was the only one I could find.
Barnsley refer to him as a giant and list him at 2.02 metres tall. Elsewhere he is listed at 1.93 which is my height. So Dancing remains our only giant.
I can't help a few I-told-you-sos about Letheren. He is a bit overweight, slow and worried by crosses, which is not a good combination in the National League as you slide well into your thirties. Bob's seems to hate him, but they hate Pembo, don't trust the Trust, have replaced Carson with Croot and are still hoping Donald Trump will win Pennsylvania.
Addai did have a loan period at Mickleover, so maybe that's the place to send SpireMatt for the low-down or high-down in this case.
Anyway when you have a defensive combination that seemed reasonably settled at times last season, if well short of excellent, and with the new season they become frightened of their own shadows, you have to look for a reason. Jalal was a very ordinary, almost competent keeper, Letheren might have reached those heights a few seasons ago. Now? Well clearly the defence doesn't trust itself. I hope that Barnsley can be trusted and that Addai can get a lot of much needed experience on Saturday in our stupidly named stadium.
Our former giant keeper Aaron Chapman is at Motherwell, did you know? He took over on first team duty a few weeks back from our former loan keeper Carson who seems to have got yet another serious injury. Grimshaw is still there too, full back or sub'.
