I wonder what Jim Bentley is doing with Fylde. He kept Morecambe up single-handedly for years! He is leaving Kosylo on the bench. Two seasons back he was the best player in the National League and Championship teams were lining up bids which never happened. Fylde grabbed him from Halifax, which I thought was the bargain of the century …. and he has hardly got a full game.
If we stay up, and Fylde are re-grouping we should grab him. He isn't old or on the way down. Something is up obviously, but he is genuinely talented, and Pembo does seem to like his players being the best they can. He doesn't want to make them something they're not! They might suit each other.
The trouble with our league is that 5 of the top 7 would struggle with promotion financially, or in Harrogate's case the pitch! Down in 12th place Barnet must be wondering if Saturday's game in the FA Trophy against Halesowen is worth winning, in the league they have three games in hand and could easily reach the play-offs. Boreham Wood are the form team, but even the influx of travelling Yeovil fans only took Saturday's crowd to 1,040. Yet the signing of Matt Rhead suggests they are aiming for promotion as they already have Tyrone Marsh and my man Tshimanga supported by Mingoia.
I don't really see any option but to relegate just three teams. The EFL have expelled Bury and the supporters' new AFC Bury are applying to start well down the pyramid. Financially the old Bury don't seem to have anyone willing or able to resurrect them, so surely must be declared dead. I'd still like to see Ebbsfleet and Maidenhead play a draw, then Stockport beat Ebbsfleet and Woking beat Maidenhead to put us two points behind with a game in hand.
As for your illness Dancing ……. well-recovered. I can tell you that if my niece, who is a Consultant Heart Specialist, had a patient suddenly displaying your symptoms the first thing she would test for is a urinary tract infection. So have confidence.
Quite how the medical profession can tell when a Spireite is delirious is another matter entirely.
