We trust you ..... a little bit ...... - Devongone - 20-02-2020

Yes Pembo it makes a little bit of sense, like the offside rule and VAR.

Saturday's best bet - Ebbsfleet away.

We spend most of our time not saying anything and deliberately covering stuff up, BUT when the time comes just to SHUT THE FCCKU UP we decide to go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like

er well we quite like you and here's the shortest contract in history to recognise the fact that we have no confidence in either ourselves or you.

What a belly-up club!

All we need now is the National League to announce it has finally got its act together just before the season ends and has decided to relegate four teams rather than the obvious three.

I think it's the right decision.

As for the bottom 3 or 4 going down we should be aiming for getting out of the relegation zone altogether.

I would have given him 2 years with a get out clause.
Probably something to do with the takeover.

RE: We trust you ..... a little bit ...... - Devongone - 21-02-2020

I would have told him he was doing great, keep going, here's a pay rise. Thank you darlin'!

Haven't you noticed how many caretakers get the job for real ……… and from doing well they start to lose? Why? The team's attitude changes.

As for not-knowing what your league position means for your team - well non-league has a history doesn't it? In recent seasons clubs have reached promotion or relegation positions in leagues not knowing whether they will go up/down and if they do will they be fed into a north/south/east/west division for the following season. Now how can anyone defend that? What's the point of winning or losing if you don't know where that gets you? Oh we'll play for a cup, or could be a shield, maybe a wooden fruit bowl, and we could have the final at Wembley or Spotland.

As for aiming to get out of the relegation zone completely, how do you do that if you don't know what constitutes the relegation zone? They could decide to promote four each from National North and South and relegate seven. Now that would cause a few howls.

Oh no poor old Pembo really has gone down with that virus, Caldwell19. Apparently we have a desire within us to win football matches. Now I really did think that was supposed to be part of the data. And oh Jeez why do we have to have close ups of that same stereotype old guy advertising the Spire Lotto. Apparently he likes a couple of pints Sunday lunchtime, enjoys taking his whippet for a walk and hasn't missed Match of the Day since 1973 ……… a former Labour voter, he changed to Conservative last time because Jeremy Corbyn is too left-wing

RE: We trust you ..... a little bit ...... - Devongone - 22-02-2020

How wrong can you be!!!!!!!!

I didn't want Nathan Tyson on loan - just scored his third.

Didn't want Pembo or anybody else to be made permanent as manager - we're now 4-0 up. What is 4-0? Is it even allowed?

RE: We trust you ..... a little bit ...... - Dancingwilldoit - 22-02-2020

Let the man say what he wants Dev. Where would we be now if we had let him have the job last year.
We need to be careful nobody comes calling.

Couldnt make yesterday, spent the time listening on radio and watching Sky Spts News from a hospital bed.
So, what a result. Hopefully we have finally seen the back of Sheridans tactics (if he had any), man management and crap team selections along with Sez Jr. All it needed was a 37 year old has been who has scored 2 in 2 years.
Did it feel good? Oh yes it felt so good they let me out this afternoon - HooBloodyRay. Its amazing what a good result can do for both the team and your health.
6 pts off 14th place and a massively improved goal difference after yesterdays game.
Apparently you can get 20:1 on us finishing in the top half of the table which looks well doable to me, I'm not a betting man but that looks as good as having your own forgery operation.
As long as we can keep the same mantra and let Pemberton come out with every cliche in the book, we are on the way back.

One big big negative to yesterdays result, somebody has posted a photo of Ronnie Moore at yesterdays game on Twitter. Now call me a deep deep thinker but why the hell was he there? If he just wanted to watch a game of football, Sheff Utd were at home. That contract extension for JP might just be a shade doubtful. I hope not.

Hope your well Dancing.

Decided to look when we last scored 4 and it was against Maidstone at home on the 13th April, won 4-1. The last time that we won 4-0 was at home to Bury on 11th January 2014. In the form table we currently sit 6th with 4 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss from 6 games.

RE: We trust you ..... a little bit ...... - Devongone - 23-02-2020

Andy Farrell was going on about the collective and his Ireland rugby team. They looked collectively quite poor.

We all know football is a team game. And that teams with a strong spirit and belief in what they are doing tend to outperform sets of individuals who look stronger on paper. Otherwise Sheff Utd and Burnley would be in the relegation zone …………

I like the man. I just don't want him to open his mouth and let his inner Gary Caldwell out.

You are in hospital Dancing. How are you? When are you getting out? The collective isn't the same without you. Best wishes etc …….

Even the Non-League Paper was talking about the issue of relegation from the National League and its knock-on effects down the pyramid. If Notts County beat Fylde this week and Ebbsfleet don't get a win either Tuesday or Saturday three teams will look very firmly anchored below us.

I know we are only 5 points behind Torquay in 14th place but the top half would mean us overtaking Woking who are 9 points in front and one other and the most likely would be Stockport, played 36 and 11 points clear. It is 20/1 against to tempt people to bet on it. We only have 11 games left to do it. It isn't quite impossible but we're talking Bigfoot and the Yeti.

Collapsed (more or less) Thurs am and was driven into A&E. For the first time in my life I was Red Carded which is a queue jumper as they initially diagnosed Sepsis. Cant tell you a lot more as I have no bloody idea what happened. I was hallucinating and delirious (typical Spireite). Friday am I was more back to normal but with Sky high Temperature. Antibiotic on drip did the trick but they wouldnt let me out for the match because my temps were still high. Finally diagnoses was UTI infection. Came out about 1 today. Not a pleasant experience.

Few teams around the lower playoff positions suddenly have lost form. I know its a tall order but I have to be optimistic.
