Until Fletcher nodded in Reach's pin point cross with about 15 minutes ths had been a decidely average game of football with both keepers virtually unemployed, only difference between the sides had been Odubajo who had twice brought Maguire down in the box and both times Johnson had put away the spot kick, the first one Westwood did get his mits on it but it still went in.

Once the first had gone in North End better side as Wednesday ran out of ideas, their main danger coming from corners and the pace of Harris, however once the diminutive winger swapped wings at half time he tended to fade from the game. Wednesday set out to frustrate and play on the break in the first period worked fine until Moses made an error in the box lost the ball and brought down Maguire.
Second period Wednesday were woeful creating little, North End should have sown the game up when failing to make the most of some poor Wednesday defending, should have crossed Westwood blocked his shot.

Second penalty Johnson sends Westwood wrong way. Cruising although one worry Bauer going off injured as you knew Wednesday would bring the giant on and sure enough with 18 minutes left on strode Nuhiu.
Goal back game on as North End started to wilt in the heat, we gave literally free kick after free kick away in dangerous positions but with Stockley employed as a centre back we hung on for the points.
The away faithful were less than impressed with Mr Jones who had a better game than when he last rocked up when we played"Big club Leeds"
Wednesday need to appoint a manager otherwise they are in danger of stagnating we are up to sixth early days but positive signs.
Sheffield Wednesday caretaker manager Lee Bullen:
"Two mistakes cost us but what we don't do as a team is throw anyone under the bus or hang them out to dry; he's a good player but he had an off day today.
"There was nothing in it until that point and then suddenly we're 2-0 down and had to chase the game, but we will always have a go.
"Good teams get around each other after a game like that. The response was very pleasing but we didn't get the break of the ball and it was too little too late."
