AFC Fylde v Preston North End 13/7/2019 Mill Farm

A.F.C. Fylde is a professional football club based in Wesham in the Borough of Fylde, Lancashire, England. Originally known as Kirkham & Wesham following a merger of Kirkham Town and Wesham in 1988, the club adopted its current name in 2008 after winning the FA Vase. They are currently members of the National League, the fifth tier of English football, and play at Mill Farm in Wesham. They are the first and so far only club to win both the FA Vase and the FA Trophy.

We travel a short distance down the M55 to AFC Fylde for the second season in succession to play the home side who almost made it into the Football League but lost 3-0 to that traditional of all non league clubs Salford City at Wembley a week later they beat Leyton Orient 1-0 in the Trophy final in what was Justin Edinburgh's last match as Orient manager before his untimely death.
Fylde have progressed all the way through the lower leagues by the single fact they have thrown money at it, however the main reason for Fylde's existance is to be found around the extremes of the ground in the retail area that has sprung up, canny man is their owner. They hope to be in the league by 2022.
