I don't remember Boden and Bowyer combining too often for us. I saw Boden and Westcarr for us at Exeter and they discovered a whole new dimension to toothless.
Boden is doing very well this season, but he is very reliant on the players around him. Denton may be good for him. My worry about him is that he sometimes seems physically quite weak for such a big guy. If I were Chesterfield I'd keep him in training through the summer break ....... I don't want to turn him into Jon Parkin ....... but there are a lot of big defenders in this league who are more than happy to match their big for your big. Even with Amantchi and Rawson's development I think we need another forward capable of scoring goals if we are to challenge next season.
I don't think Bowery went for a million - it was maybe half that. It was a bad move for him. He went to a club in decline who were signing several lower-leaguers at the time in the hope of netting some cheap magic. He had very little hope of getting a game and very rarely managed it. He's struggled since but he has been doing well at Crewe recently. Like Matt I'm doubtful he'd come back and I'm not sure he's the right type for us now.
The trouble with Bob's was (and probably still is) very few of them have grasped that we are non-leaguers and that our most likely productive source of recruitment will be at our own level and below. I think we are better to recruit players who want to get up to the EFL, not ones who have slid slowly down the divisions. Me, I'd have a little gamble on a Brandon Goodship, a Glen Taylor, Tshimanga or even Maclaggon from the Barry Town who Rowley and Maguire came up against the other night. If we'd any sense we'd be scouring the goalscoring charts and taking a look at some of these guys before the end of the season ........ but that's not the Chesterfield way is it?
As for Armand, dream on, he should be looking to step up on what he's done this season.
