I’d like to see us tweak the system at home to 4231. Livermore and Barry in the middle, Phillips on the right, Murphy or Montero on the left, Harper as the 10 and Rodriguez or Gayle as the striker. I think that would give us a better balance where we can defend solidly with two banks of four and then attack with 4 attacking players and the full backs.

Away from home we then have the choice of 433/4141 and 4231 which can tweaked simply by how the opposition’s centre midfield is lined up.

Or we could just play 442, put our best players out and let the opposition worry about our set up or how we’re going to play, two banks of four with a midfield protecting the back four and turning defence into attack with two strikers who both have plenty of goals in them and will keep opposition defences on the back foot all game.

Very simple, and probably would be very effective, Aires.
I must admit, it IS frustrating when the 2 in charge cannot, or will not, see the blindingly obvious.
