Maybe I'm confused about the son.
He had a dog. He enjoyed walking it. He couldn't get in the Clay Cross game because he had his dog with him!
I think it has to be him. Holmewood is too much of a coincidence. Lenny Carter and Mick Savile taught him football in Holmewood. They were quite a bit older than me when I was playing. Ten years down the line they'd have been washed up as players but they'd have been running the team.
