Fair point, Dev. I still think though that, on balance, we`re best sticking with MA for the duration as I really can`t think of anyone who`s likely to do a better job ion our circumstances. May be, though, that`s because I do so like his openness - which is in great contrast to what`s gone on before. The attitude of the club towards the supporters before he arrived seemed to be `just turn up, pay your money and don`t ask awkward questions`. `Treated with contempt` might be a slight exaggeration but not too much of one, to my way of thinking. At least MA genuinely seems to be trying to engage with the fanbase and I`m prepared to give him a hell of a lot of credit for that.
Having said that, some of his announcements do seem to be getting more and more surreal. On the one hand, you could be critical and say that his recent actions scream of desperation, but on the other you could credit him for not letting the grass grow and for trying to solve problems without dithering. I honestly have no idea which it is yet, but I suspect time will tell.
I agree with you entirely, Matt, about the ethics of modern football and the attitude towards its followers. But then, you should know that from the comments I`ve made on numerous threads in the past. How did ABBA put it? "Money, money, money....."
