Ok, I never thought this league would be easy and I was well pleased with our 9 point start.
I just fail to see where all the pessimism and doom and gloom is coming from.
Ok the football isn't pretty but did anybody really expect it to be in this league?
For the last 3 seasons we have been everybody's whipping boys, we just rolled over and let them take control and the points. We had no fight and we were not losing by just 1 goal it was usually 2 or 3 or 4 at home and away.
We have just lost 4 on the bounce by a single goal - that's 1 goal. 3 of them were away from home. We are not rolling over anymore. We have got some fight back in us thank god - at last. We could have had a few more goals and a few more points but hey that's football.
We might well have at least another season in this league but so what? If it means we come back stronger, leaner and with a better team ethos and attitude I will take that. The drop and the rot may just have been halted and for that I am thankful.
If there is one area I have to question MA it would be in his substitutions. On Sat if we had seen the game out with the starting 11 we would have finished with a point and might even have nicked it. In the games against Barrow Salford and Hartlepool our substitutions had little or no impact. That needs sorting out.
We will miss Carter, we have so far and we really could do with another midfielder of his caliber. Rowley is not that player. He is too light weight and might be an impact player when a defence is tired but that's about it in this league.
