We have to score goals. We have to sow confusion in the opposition defence to do that. We haven't done that for over two seasons.

Send Muggleton on in the last 15 and it's just an admission we've run out ideas. Start him. Rain those throws in on them before they've had chance to settle in. Put the goalie under pressure at the start, don't warm him up for 75 minutes then expect Muggleton to unsettle him. Make that young centre back shaky.

And to be useful we have to make sure it isn't always the same throw. He has to get some coming flatter and harder, some higher and longer .......... AND why not learn from rugby, they have line-out codes so everyone knows what is happening? Shout Beans and the throw goes not to head but over the top into space for Zavon Hines to run onto ...... that kinda thing. So it and Muggleton become an important part of our play that we rehearse in training.

If we just say oh last 15 if we're desperate we'll make nothing much of the player, or our own attacking potential. We'll turn him into the poor player people want to tell us he is. It's like you have a dead-ball specialist you have to find the best ways to use him - Ronaldo had had 49 unsuccessful attempts at that kick before his equaliser against Spain. If we look at the last 15 we're making this throw perhaps a two-goal a season threat at best. We shouldn't be looking at what Muggleton can't do, we should be looking at what he can do exceptionally well ........ making it even better ........ and using it to win matches. Clearly the teams he's played for haven't really done that. He should easily be worth 10 assists a season. AND when he throws it isn't just the big guys we want in on it. We need a Lee Shaw picking up the pieces and getting in on goal.

There are 23 other teams up against us. Some will include quite moderate players too, but I can guarantee you that none of them will have a guy who can throw like that! No one looks at a goalscorer who is top of the charts and moans ....... his control's not great and he can't pick a pass if he's getting 30 goals a season. We forgive the guy barely raising a tackle in midfield if he's whipping in corners and free-kicks that terrify the opposition. Maybe if we cut Muggleton a bit of slack and really value what he can do for us, we might find out he's a bit more of a player than anyone has given him credit for. And worth a start.
