I think it could work.  Still a bit of risk, but the lowest people could score is -4 and that would require them to play their Gamball AND get every prediction wrong, so it'll be very rare that anyone actually gets a minus, thus making it the league's more competitive.

I've been trying to think of a way to replace the insurance ball, don't think we can really though.
