When the school heating broke down you wore your coat and gloves. 62/63 was lovely. Only down side was the Hope Valley Football league had to cancel its season because all the teams were more than three months behind with their fixtures and several of the pitches incorporated the outfield of cricket pitches ..... so they couldn't just extend the season. The team my dad ran were the best in the league so it was a bit of a disaster. Most of the Hope Valley teams weren't keen on a Chesterfield team coming top, so they didn't mind too much.
