I hope I'm wrong, but I can only see us going down now.
We need 2 wins without the sides above us getting a win just to get back with the pack. We've only won 3 all season and I think the improvement under Pardew has been nominal. I certainly haven't seen anything to suggest we could put together a winning streak.
Effectively, we have to win every home game except Spurs and grab a win or 2 on the road. At home, we've already failed to beat Palace, Newcastle, Stoke, Watford, West Ham, Everton and Southampton - so I'd be surprised if we can roll over Leicester, Burnley and Swansea. We could easily lose 1 or 2 of those the way we are playing.
In fact, I wouldn't even fancy us against Leicester if everyone is back from injury.
On the road, I just don't fancy us against anyone. We seem to be a soft touch who just can't pinch a result. All of the 6 pointers like Swansea, Stoke, Southampton and West Ham we have lost, while we managed to draw at Everton after leading when their fans were booing their own players because we didn't have the balls to go for the jugular. Even Huddersfield managed to beat us after playing with 10 men for 35 minutes.
The only chance we have is if we finally have a massive slice of luck. Perhaps Chelsea away and they get someone sent off in the first 10 minutes or Utd away and he plays the Under 23 team because they have a Champions League game coming and can't win the title. We need a goalkeeper to throw a few in their own net. We don't have the quality to get out if all things are equal.
