Pooch, neither I nor Dancing advocated throwing all the youngsters onto the pitch at the same time, but I think we would have been happy with four or five in the squad - especially when they were being replaced by loanees who WERE quite literally doing nothing for us.

BUT that was when we had the idiot with whom you were in love in charge, as you well know! If you keep making facts up you'll turn into Donald Trump. It could happen Pooch, watch the mirror for unexpected hair growth!

I would still like to see Wakefield on the bench at least, Maguire playing, Rowley playing, Ricky German either in the squad or on a Vanarama loan with Brownell too.

I definitely did think McCourt looked like the perennial fourth man in a four-man midfield. Now I'm hoping he isn't too badly injured! I thought Reed was lightweight and fans are still generally of that view and Weir is nothing if not ordinary (but you often have a Weir in your team at this level!) So what Jack is doing is pretty amazing.

I still think the two most important things a club like ours can do to improve is develop young talent and find and develop unrecognised talent lower down the pyramid. And we play them and eventually we sell them.

IF I were Jack Lester last night I would have hidden Joe Rowley from Man City, because them turning his head would be bad for us and him, and I would have rested Dennis too - the last thing we needed was him scoring a hat-trick in a nothing competition. (If we are contemplating selling Dennis, a decision I'm guessing won't be down to Jack, we'll have to calculate how much going down would cost us and base the transfer fee on that!) You watched it last night Pooch, do you think Jack hid the two of them? I'd applaud him for it. I bet he probably would rather someone else had scored .........

You might remember things that you must have read on here first LIKE Joe Anyon was at best a reserve goalkeeper and if there were ever any doubt about Tommy Lee's fitness he would be a disaster. That was before he played a friendly! And you are still able to give him only 5 out of ten in last night's glorified friendly against Man City's bunch of foreign kids learning English football.

You've liked Rowley from the start Pooch. Excellent spot! I'd barely noticed him feeding Ricky German in the Juniors, probably because everyone wants a big confident black centre forward to sell when he reaches 21 don' t they? But I suppose Joe was doing that. It's great he's now doing so well. It'd be great one day to make a huge profit on him. But both for us and the boy himself I think first team football with us will bring him on quicker than the giant squad of juniors at a Premier League club. And that's why I and Dancing I think want our other lads getting a first-team look-in once Jack has got his fingers on every pulse in the club. In the position GC has placed us in Jack has to be a bit conservative, but if he can bring enough out of McCourt to go from an ordinary and pretty much unwanted player to one all the fans are now worried about us losing, then what can he do with the young lads? I'm glad Charlie Wakefield got 5 minutes last night - I hope it's 35 at Fleetwood ..... It's the way forward. It's why I wanted jack as manager, because I think he does have vision.
