I can't think that finance would be a problem. Much as I hate what they earn these days, another million or 2 is not going to hurt in the great scale of things - it's only the same as we're paying Liversalts, and if it came to the crunch I'd let some Championship come in for him so we could save his salary to pay for a good HC.

Maybe being able to afford Koeman is not just about his own salary??  He will want his own staff as well and then there is the transfer budget he would be given.  I'm not sure that your board are going to be prepared to spend the sort of money on players and wages that he might be looking for, especially as he is the one candidate who would likely want a clear out of the current playing staff.

That is what I meant - we can't afford him. How about Walsall's manager - small journey, little more wages,, or  in replacement for some of our dross.
