So we played Buxton for the GF Tomlinson Cup because Buxton now have there kit sponsored by GF Tomlinson as do we. Buxton came out in a very nice red kit and Chesterfield wore the white away shirt with the blue strip.
First half Chesterfield started very very brightly and nearly took the lead soon after kick off when Delial Brewster rounded the keeper but couldn't get it on target so passed it to Charlie Wakefield whose shot was blocked. Brewster nearly went close again several minutes later when a cross from the left hand side by Jerome Binnom-Williams found Brewster but he hit it into the side netting.
Chesterfield broke the deadlock in the 27th minute when a cross from Jerome Binnom-Williams met the head of Delial Brewster to head home. Sooner after Chesterfield doubled there lead when Brewster was brought down in the area by Buxton's Greg Young and Jordan Sinnott stepped up and slotted it past Jan Budtz. Ricky German then made it three when a shot from outside the area took a minor deflection and went past Budtz and into the net.
Second half a whole new eleven came out and Chesterfield got the fourth and final goal after Gozie Ugwu layed Kristian Dennis off outside the area and he curled the ball past the Buxton keeper.
Buxton did have some good spells throughout the game especially at set-pieces and they were unfortunate not to grab a consolation goal.
Conclusion. We've got a young team which looks very very promising especially players like German, Brewster, Binnom-Williams and Ugwu.
