Why are we blowing so hot and cold about Irvine.
We lose a match against Newcastle with the players apparently giving a poor performance and, everyone (most anyway) are immediately on Irvine,s back.
Yet a handful of good results (Spurs and Leicester) and some bloggers are immediately more hopeful of a successful season.
Even in the good old days (except perhaps 1978/79) the Baggies always blew hot and cold whoever was Manager and however good the players seemed to be.
In fact I think that we rarely finished in the top half of the old Division 1.
We were a good Cup side, no more no less. But, sadly not even that now.
I suppose it's the expectations of being in 'the greed league' and the financial implications of failure and relegation which haunt us all.
Like many on here, I was very disappointed at Irvine's appointment but willing to give him a chance to show what he could do. It's beginning to seem that some of the comments made by Wednesday supporters are coming to fruition.
Unless Irvine starts to pick flair players soon and unless he relies less on the 'old boy network' (Dozza, Mozza, Bruntyetc.) I think we will sink slowly into the sunset and be in the bottom three by Xmas.
When will JP bite the bullet and seek out a replacement Coach?
How much rope do you think JP will give Irvine?

Some days I'm top dog, most days I'm just the lamp post.
