YES  Thumb up

Agreed, it's a massive weakness. I can only remember one headed goal by him, his first in the 4-0 win against Burnley two seasons ago, when he could hardly miss, a yard from the goal line.

He missed 3 golden chances yesterday one why the keeper was on the floor  Doh

Is he overrated

YES  Thumb up

Not sure if he is a bad header of the ball or just that his heads been turned ......

I do not think he is overrated, he has a real talent, he could be world class. What spoils him is his childishnesss and his petulance. Is he missing because of lack of confidence or out is spite ..... he knows he will be gone next season so why should he try and by so doing help the club he appears to have fallen out of love with to do well or succeed.

If he is being petulant, it's a dangerous game to play, future employers will see his behaviour and may decide against a disruptive, poisonous influence in the dressing room. If he won't play the banish him to train on his own with no game time at any level ....... two wrongs don't make a right, but also by playing him it may encourage other teams to want him for free come July, he is currently wasting a shirt and it means we are playing every match with ten men. Don't help him to screw us over ..... ungrateful wretch.

I honestly think that the Berahino who came through a couple of years ago had the potential to a top class striker.

I can't think of any other strikers in the league at all that have shown the ability that he's shown with both feet. Also his movement and runs are top class when he's deployed as an out and out striker.

We only have to think back at the amount of really good goals the kid has scored... The left footed strike from range on his debut against Man United. Then at home against Man United the following year we saw the other side of his game, where he makes a brilliant arched run is slotted through and sidefoots it with his right foot past De Gea.

The long range right footer against Courtois, when we beat Chelsea 3-0 at home under Pulis the season before last...

The brilliant goal against West Ham away where he passes the ball into the corner with his right foot.

The cream of the crop was the left foot volley against Southampton in 2015. Most players wouldn't have the ability to score that with their best foot, Saido did it with his other foot.

The list could go on...

I'm not a fan of him as person, for obvious reasons. But I think it's unfair to only remember what a player has done in the last few months. A lot of fans talk about him being overrated, not worth £2m and so on; yet if you look at our goal of the season for 14-15, it's basically the Berahino show. Many of his goals were point winning goals as well.

If that's not a player with top class potential, I don't know what is...

Even last year, when he was mainly shunted into a workman like role, he still scored a couple of vital goals. Including the winner against Villa away, which played a huge part in them getting relegated IMO. But with football, players are only as good as their last game...

Have to agree with Beefy here.... He looked fat and slow, cant head a ball, his movement seems to have deteriorated.  I understand he didn't get decent service, but he just looks a shadow of the player he was when he burst onto the scene.

Although there must be some, I can't in recent years remember a player with such potential ruining their career in the way that Berahino has surely done.

His intelligence level must be very low if he can't see that he will never play for one of the bigger clubs with him being a 'troublemaker' and unlikely to ever wear an England shirt again.

Shame really for the lad but I agree, with his toxic attitude, he shouldn't be anywhere near the first team or the kids. Train on his own and exclude him from any first team activities,

There's no doubt in my mind that his 'huff' over the Spurs transfer certainly put plenty of teams off him. I actually think had he maintained professionalism, they probably would've eventually paid our asking price. But as you say, his persistent use of social media isn't really what big teams want in their ranks...

Unfortunately there isn't any correlation between being a naturally gifted footballer and intelligent.

Maybe he'll get his form back when he goes though. He certainly has exhibited plenty of talent in the past and I can't help thinking a lot of his form is down to his mentality and our lack of any creative spark.

The club and Pulis act as though Saido is the first player to have wanted to leave a club for supposedly bigger and better things. Whatever the rights and wrongs of it, our strategy has certainly delivered a result.......a bordering on useless member of the squad with a rapidly diminishing value. No idea why we have not sold him......£15 million plus spent in the market has to be better than where we are. Hope someone learns from this.

For all of us hindsight is a wonderful thing. Clearly we should have sold him to Spurs in 2015 but none of us could have foreseen the car crash that was his season last year. I think Statham is right, we should have taken the money because, once we denied him the move, we then had a very disgruntled player who has done precisely bugger all since then, save for the occasional high spot like Villa away

On the plus side, at least clubs like Totenham can't bully us into selling players, and know that we will cut off our nose to spite our face if need be. This could actually help us with negotiations in the future, assuming we carry on the same strategy after Peace has completely left.
