It's official (well, it's on the BBC website)!!

That's gotta be good enough, surely, JP?

(JP: "Hello Mark. Yes - all seems to be OK with that offer.....apart from the 3m in future add-ons. Can you bundle that ALL into an up front £20m package please? Oh, and what about the Green Shield Stamps??" Confused )

Sigh here we go again. Why not just accept the offer provisionally and see if anyone else wants to top it. Just found a dummy in Halfords Lane. Hope its not an omen. DD Angry Angry

20 up front and 3 in add ons is a great offer, I can understand us rejecting the offer and trying to sort a replacement first but I'm not sure there will be a bidding war, Stoke are meant to be going for Van Persie on loan so they might just get him and then pick up Berahino on a free at the end of his contract and Palace could go for someone else.

20m up front is a lot to turn down for a striker who frankly hasn't scored many in the past 18 months or so and is now in the last year of his contract!! If he stays and still doesn't perform, then that value will halve come January and then completely disappear next summer, doesn't make a lot of business sense to hold onto him to find a replacement when in actual fact it wouldn't take much to get 10-12 goals a year from someone else anyway!!

Yeh, but Spurs were ready to pay 20 a year ago for this great goalscorer on the edge of the full England team, and inflation has pretty much doubled since then. If it weren't for his childish attitude this 22 y-o would be worth every penny of £40m in this market.
Start every day off with a smile and get it over with

I agree with what you say talkSAFT, but The Owl is right. SB IS in the last year of his contract, he HASN'T scored that many in the last 18 months, and so you HAVE got to question the wisdom of turning down offers of £20m for a player in that position.
I think JP will be left with a seriously eggy face over this Confused

Something else the WBA management are good at - dragging things out until as Drewks say, we get egg on our face.
I've had enough of this is he going, is he staying, will JB be stupid or not, I say let him go now, and get in Van Persie as he's on offer.
